About Umbra Dynamics
Umbra Dynamics is a Scottish studio with a development and publishing team in Dundee, focused on preserving and remastering older games. Its aim is to bring out-of-print classics back to modern consoles, including in physical editions.
The studio is led by Marc Williamson, formerly chief executive of Dundee developer Tag Games. In 2026 it won the Tayside round of the Regional EDGE business competition. Its work on remasters and re-releases typically calls for programmers with porting and emulation experience, artists, quality assurance staff and producers.
