About Voodoo
Voodoo is a mobile games and apps company headquartered in Paris, founded in 2013 by Alexandre Yazdi and Laurent Ritter. It became widely known for free-to-play hyper-casual mobile games and did much to popularise that genre. Beyond games, it owns the social app BeReal, which it acquired in 2024.
Voodoo works both as a developer and as a publisher for outside studios, testing and scaling mobile titles with a strongly data-led approach to marketing and live operations. It established a London base in 2019 by acquiring the London studio Gumbug, maker of the mobile fighting game Smash Supreme. Roles at the company typically span game design, product management, data analysis, user acquisition and marketing, software engineering and art.
