About Failbetter Games
Failbetter Games is an independent games studio in London, founded in 2010 by Alexis Kennedy and Paul Arendt. It is best known for Fallen London, a browser-based narrative game set in a gothic, Victorian-era version of London that launched in 2009 and is still running.
The studio extended that setting into the exploration games Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies and the narrative game Mask of the Rose, and its newer title Mandrake is its first game in a new world and genre since Fallen London. Failbetter's work centres on writing and narrative design, supported by programming, art, production and community roles, and it states that it does not use forced overtime or AI-generated content.
