About Bulkhead Phoenix
Bulkhead is a first-person shooter developer based in Derby, founded in 2014 and best known for Battalion 1944 and the puzzle game The Turing Test. Its Derby studio was renamed Bulkhead Phoenix in 2018, when the company opened a second studio in Munich.
Its current project is Wardogs, a large-scale multiplayer shooter built in Unreal Engine 5 and published by Team17. In late 2025 Bulkhead was acquired from Tencent by a consortium including everplay group and Hiro Capital. Bulkhead typically recruits for gameplay, network and engine programming, level and game design, environment and weapon art, animation and quality assurance.
