Apply at Second Star Games More roles at Second Star Games
We are looking for a hands-on Social Media & Marketing Manager to grow the audience for Second Star Games and Neverland: A Peter Pan Adventure.
Second Star Games is a new UK game studio led by veterans of the LEGO games franchise. We are building premium, story-led co-op adventures that young gamers and their families can remember playing together.
This is not a role where you simply brief other people to make the content. You will find the stories inside the studio, plan and run shoots, interview developers, edit the footage, write the copy, publish the work and learn from the results. You will also help shape and deliver the wider marketing campaign for Neverland.
What you'll do
• Build and run the social media and content strategy for Second Star Games and Neverland.
• Plan and manage an editorial calendar across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Steam.
• Create content from start to finish, including ideas, scripts, interview questions, camera, lighting, sound, editing, captions, thumbnails and publishing.
• Lead a recurring developer-diary series and help developers give interesting, authentic interviews.
• Turn strong source material into effective long-form video, Shorts, Reels, TikToks, stills and written posts.
• Write clear, distinctive copy in the voice of the studio and the game.
• Help deliver the product marketing and go-to-market calendar for Neverland, including announcements, trailers, showcases, Steam activity, creators, press and launch communications.
• Support small paid-media and creator tests, using the results to improve future work and spend.
• Manage comments and messages, monitor audience response and share useful insight with the team.
• Track performance across reach, engagement, retention, traffic, sentiment and wishlist contribution. What we're looking for • A demonstrable record of launching or materially growing social media channels for a game studio, publisher or closely related entertainment brand.
• Experience contributing to at least one PC or console game campaign during development, announcement or launch.
• A portfolio of video work that you personally planned, shot and edited, covering both polished long-form and effective short-form content.
• Confidence interviewing developers and helping people who are not natural presenters feel comfortable on camera.
• Strong practical skills with cameras, lighting and sound, plus professional editing experience in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro or equivalent.
• Excellent copywriting and editorial judgement, with a clear understanding of how tone and format change between platforms.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, publishing and analytics tools.
• A self-starting approach. You spot stories, solve problems and keep the calendar moving without waiting for a detailed brief.
• Strong knowledge of games, player audiences and the realities of showing work in development.
• Experience with Steamworks, creator campaigns, events, licensed IP or family entertainment would be useful, but is not essential. Ways of working • Tuesday to Thursday in our Warrington studio. Regular in-person access is essential because filming the team and the game is central to the role.
• Monday and Friday at your discretion, though many of us are in the studio.
• Flexible working within core hours of 10:00 to 16:00.
• Occasional travel, events or time-sensitive capture outside normal office hours, planned in advance wherever possible. Benefits • 25 days' holiday plus UK bank holidays.
• 4% company pension scheme.
• EMI share options for eligible employees.
• High-spec hardware, production equipment and software provided.
• Great coffee. Please include a portfolio, one short social-channel growth case study and two or three examples of videos you personally planned, shot and edited. Second Star Games welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds. If you need adjustments at any stage of the application or interview process, please let us know.
