For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to join our data team, playing a key role in maintaining and evolving our analytics platform!
As an Analytics Engineer you will support teams across the organisation in accessing and understanding their analytics data, helping them answer business and technical questions, identify trends and issues, and make better data-driven decisions. You will help maintain and improve the reliability, performance and scalability of our ELK analytics infrastructure, while working with data to produce valuable insights, dashboards and analysis.
You will play an important role within a growing team, working closely with developers, game teams and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and get the most from our analytics platform. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your skills across analytics, data engineering and Elasticsearch in a supportive, collaborative and technically focused environment.
This role will be based at our riverside headquarters in Oxford, offering a creative and relaxed atmosphere where teamwork drives our success. Key Outcomes:
- Maintain and improve the reliability, performance and scalability of our ELK analytics cluster, ensuring high availability and reliable data pipelines.
- Enable teams across the organisation to access, understand and make effective use of our analytics data.
- Produce useful insights, analysis and dashboards that support better business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, improve and troubleshoot our existing ELK infrastructure, investigating performance and reliability issues and implementing practical solutions.
- Analyse data from our analytics platform, developing queries, dashboards and insights to answer business and technical questions and identify trends or issues.
- Work with developers and game teams to understand their data and analytics needs and help them get the most from the system.
- Support internal users with access and usage, while helping teams resolve data-related issues.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, work with data and communicate findings clearly.
- Hands-on experience working with data, analytics or data engineering, with an enthusiasm for learning and developing your skills.
- Professional experience working with Elasticsearch, Logstash and/or Kibana.
- The ability to work autonomously, collaborate with other teams and learn quickly.
Desirable
- Experience working with ELK clusters or supporting production analytics pipelines.
- Experience building Kibana dashboards, visualisations or extensions.
- Experience with SQL, Python or other data analysis tools.
- Elastic training/certification.
