We're looking for a Mid / Senior Animator to help bring Neverland to life through expressive, handcrafted, hand-keyed animation across gameplay, characters, creatures and cinematic moments.
What you'll do
- Lead in-game animation across gameplay, characters, creatures and the mini-cuts that punctuate the journey between chapters
- Make combat feel great, with every swing, dodge, hit and reaction crafted to feel weighty and responsive
- Give our cast genuine character, bringing life and personality to their animations and adding the small touches that make Neverland feel handmade
- Work closely with Engineering and Design, iterating on feel until every mechanic lands the way it should
- Partner with the Cutscene Director to make our cinematic moments read as one continuous storybook
- Lift the wider animation team by sharing techniques, running reviews and raising the bar for everyone
- Champion handcrafted, hand-keyed character animation. It's the heart of how Neverland looks
- You've animated on games before, with at least one shipped console or PC title
- A showreel that shows gameplay animation, character performance and the handmade quality we're after
- Combat animation experience, including attacks, hits and reactions you've refined until they felt satisfying
- Expert Maya skills. Unreal Engine 5 experience is strongly preferred
- You're a hand-key animator first. This is a hand-keyed studio
- You understand the 12 principles of animation and how to apply them to gameplay animation
- A love of fantasy worlds, expressive characters and storytelling through movement
- You take ownership and push for quality without being asked
- Tuesday to Thursday in our Warrington studio
- Monday and Friday at your discretion, though many of us are in the office
- Flexible working within core hours, 10:00-16:00
- 25 days holiday plus UK bank holidays
- 4% company pension scheme
- EMI share options for eligible employees
- High-spec hardware and software provided
