Magnopus is seeking a Director of Product Operations to help build, scale and lead our UK Product organisation.
Working alongside the Director of Technology and Product leadership in the US, you'll play a key role in shaping how our Product organisation operates as we continue to grow our platform and product offering.
This is a leadership role, but not one that sits at arm's length from execution. We're looking for someone who can provide organisational direction while remaining close enough to the work to help teams navigate ambiguity, make progress and solve problems.
You'll help connect strategy, planning and delivery, ensuring that evolving business priorities are translated into clear plans, aligned teams and successful outcomes. Initially, you'll also provide hands-on Product Management leadership while helping us build the Product Management and Technical Program Management capability we expect to need in the future.
We're still building and evolving our Product organisation, so success in this role will require someone who is comfortable creating structure where it doesn't yet exist, adapting to changing priorities, and balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution. This is a role for someone who enjoys helping shape the organisation around them, rather than simply operating within an already established framework.
We're looking for someone who combines leadership maturity with a pragmatic, hands-on approach - someone who is equally comfortable discussing long-term organisational direction, supporting teams through day-to-day challenges, and rolling up their sleeves when needed.
What you'll do
-
Lead the operational effectiveness of the UK Product organisation.
-
Partner closely with Product and Technology leadership to translate strategy into execution.
-
Partner with Product leadership across the UK and US to ensure priorities, requirements and delivery expectations are clearly understood and effectively coordinated.
-
Help shape the future structure, capability and operating model of the Product organisation.
-
Provide hands-on Product Management leadership where needed.
-
Build and develop Product Management and Technical Program Management capability over time.
-
Work with stakeholders across the UK and US to align priorities, plans and delivery expectations.
-
Support roadmap planning, OKR development and organisational goal setting.
-
Anticipate organisational, delivery and capability risks before they become blockers.
-
Help teams navigate changing priorities while maintaining clarity and momentum.
-
Drive effective communication and alignment across disciplines, locations and leadership groups.
-
Support hiring, team development and succession planning activities.
-
Contribute to the ongoing evolution of how Magnopus develops and delivers products.
What will help you succeed in this role
-
Significant experience operating in Product Management, Product Operations, Program Management or Product Delivery leadership roles.
-
Experience building, leading or scaling product-oriented teams and functions.
-
Strong Product Management foundations and a practical understanding of the product development lifecycle.
-
A strong understanding of Product Management principles and the ability to work effectively with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers and delivery teams.
-
Experience working across multiple disciplines, including Product, Engineering, Delivery and Leadership.
-
A track record of creating clarity and direction within fast-moving or ambiguous environments.
-
Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to balance short-term needs against long-term goals.
-
Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
-
Confidence making decisions and recommendations when complete information is not available.
-
Experience defining operational processes and ways of working without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
-
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
-
A collaborative leadership style focused on enabling others to succeed.
-
A pragmatic, hands-on approach and willingness to step into the detail when required.
Even better if you also have
-
Experience working within startup, scale-up or rapidly evolving product environments where adaptability, ambiguity and hands-on leadership were essential to success.
-
Experience within games, media, entertainment, creative technology or developer tooling organisations.
-
Experience leading Product Managers, Technical Program Managers or equivalent functions.
-
Familiarity with platform products, developer tools or enterprise technology products.
-
Experience working with distributed or cross-location teams.
We don't expect anyone to tick every box above. If you believe you could be successful in the role and are excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of Product at Magnopus, we'd love to hear from you.
